"GOD IS WITH YOU IN ALL THAT YOU DO." -GENESIS 21:22

From the beginning, Nativity Lutheran Church has been engaged in the communities of Barrow and Walton County; We have made Bethlehem our home and care very much about what our neighbors care about: safety, healthy youth, supportive infrastructure, and affordable services for all. Our statement is

Sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ through worship, learning, witness, and service.

Nativity is volulnteering to work at the Winder Food Pantry during the month of May, Monday - Friday, 5:30-6:00.  Speak with Jane Dienes for more information and to sign up to help!

During the month of June, Nativity will host the 'Church of the Month".  This is a collaboration Barrow County churches to help those in our community who are in need.   Please see Jane Dienes for more information and to sign up to help.

Briscoe Mills

Briscoe Mill Community

We would love to have more volunteers to be able to take turns with the time or to fill in when someone can't be there.  We must always have at least two people there whenever we go there.

The following is a list of the items we are currently short on in our pantry:

canned chicken         small cooking oil       masa cookies

ramen noodles          macaroni and chees        noodles        jelly

small pasta noodles        canned fruit    spaghetti       soup

canned vegetables             noodles                jelly                         pancake mix

Knorr tomato sauce         pudding                      sauce                      refried beans

small jars of mayonnaise   family bottles juice

The best places to buy these items are Walmart, Aldi, and Dollar Tree.

As always, we are so thankful for our GENEROUS Nativity Church family.  You are all the best.

The Prayer Shawl & Quilting Ministry

The Prayer Shawl & Quilting Ministry is a group of people who enjoy quilting, crocheting and knitting.

We have made shawls, which are given to people who have a chronic illness or surgery to wrap around them when they pray. Plus we do chemo hats and lap robes as needed.

We make quilts which are then sent through Lutheran World Relief to serve refugees all around the world.

We also provide quilts for local homeless shelters and youth homes throughout the community.

Our quilting ministry continues through Covid, but is mostly done independently.  If you are interested in helping, contact Jean Hunt and she can give you ideas of how you can participate.

DID you know???

80 Quilts!!!

80 quilts will be delivered to Trinity Lutheran Church on Friday, August 27.  These will then be shipped overseas to refugee camps.  If you would like to be involved with the quilting program please reach out to Jean Hunt.

Material needed!

The Quilting Ministry is asking for donations of (used) curtains, tablecloths, upholstery material, bed sheets or just fabric that we could use for making quilts.  Betty cuts the fabric into squares so we can make the quilt tops and we use the sheets for the back of the quilts. Any fabric is good.  Examples are rayon, silk, satin broad cloth, cotton, muslin, corduroy, flannel, etc.  Thanks!!  The donations can be left in the quilt room or I can meet  anyone or go to their home to pick it up. -  Jean

For more information on the Quilting Ministry, contact Jean Hunt.

Garden of Eatin'

We have planted an assortment of vegetables; tomatoes, peppers, onions, potatoes, cucumber, etc.  Assorted herbs; basil, dill, rosemary, as well as blueberry and blackberry bushes.

If you're hungry, come on by and enjoy some homegrownbboodness!

We need your help!

We need members of the congregation to help water,  harvest, and weed the garden.  Once foods become available we will be taking them to the Food Pantry in downtown Winder, and sharing with our ministry in Briscoe Mill.
