There are many ways the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) reaches out to our neighbors, both in our own backyards and across the world.  Nativity has participated in many of these programs by raising money for World Hunger and sharing global concerns during Lenten Midweek dinners.

We had a Fair Trade Fair and sold items made by women all over the world, highlighting the Malaria Campaign with our very own mosquito net and selling books about fighting malaria written for children by John Nunes.

Our newest project involves mentoring women through their GED so they can get better paying jobs to support their families.  Along with mentoring them through the test itself, we offer a program steeped in building a sense of self-worth, leadership and life skills, computer skills and a healthy sense that God loves them and will stand by them in their struggle and success.  This program is the first birth of the PALS Athens program under the auspices of Women to the World.  We believe that this is the reason we have been planted in Barrow County!
