Lang Reeves is very happy that he was led to Nativity Lutheran Church where the people are very warm and welcoming. He is honor and privileged to serve as the Music Director. Lang was born in Taipei, Taiwan as the youngest of three sons to military parents. He lived there, and then in Georgia, Germany, and Colorado before his family settled down in his mother's hometown of Blackshear, GA when Lang was 11. Where ever they lived, the Reeves had always been active in church. Lang accepted Jesus as Savior, was baptized at the age of 9, and has a lifelong love of studying scripture. Lang is grateful for the many gifts of his parents, which inlude their Christian teaching and their support and encouragement of Lang's musical development. Lang played bass, drums, and the clarinet in his school band, sang in many church progams, learned how to play the guitar and piano, and formed a Gospel Quartet at the age of 16.
Lang earned an Associate Degree in Music at Waycross College and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemisty at Georgia Southern. After college, he taught school for a few years, where he met a vey special teacher named Kim. The two of them married, had two daughters, and enjoyed many years of happiness together before God called Kim home to heaven in 2009. Lang switched from teaching to lab work in 1989 and has worked as a Chemical Analyst by day for the past 27 years. On nights and weekends, he has enjoyed many different musical jobs, serving as a Minister of Music at several Churches and providing music at weddings, resturants, taverns, parties, and so on. He has also taught some private lessons. Lang has lived in Snellville for a little over 20 years. His youngest daughter is currently attending college in Florida. His eldest daughter lives in Lilburn with her boyfriend and their son, Ares; Lang's greatest joy is taking care of his grandson on the weekends. When not busy with his day job, grandson, Church, or practicing music, Lang enjoys reading, walking his dog, swimming, hiking, and watching movies.
